I've got a sizing question. Currently I'm sizing a new Exchange Server 2013 infrastructure which will replace two Exchange Server 2010 organization (company merge). The total amount of users (sum of both companies) is around 500 users. But the are also a lot of shared mailboxes, about 300 in total. The sum of all currently in use mailboxes is 800.
I'm a bit confused by the Exchange Server 2013 Calculator (v6.3). The calculator needs to know "total number of tier-1 user mailboxes". Do I need to fill this cell with 500 or 800? My assumption is the value 800 to make a correct mailbox database calculation. But this will also increase the CPU and RAM requirements.
