Accessing Exchange From Different Subnet

Hi Exchange Expert,

We plan to change create more VLAN configurations on our network to separate from servers and clients subnet. Currently the clients is on the same subnet with servers, which is 192.168.1.x/24. We would like move the clients to another subnet say 192.168.2.x/24. Of course, we will create the inter vlan routing between these two VLANs so both VLAN can ping to each other. we are using Exchange 2010 with Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise.

Question are:

 - will there any issue for the clients outlook to access exchange from client subnet since they are no more on the same subnet with exchange servers? Currently, When I check on my current outlook connection status, they are connecting via TCP since it is internal and both clients and servers are within the same subnet.

- will auto discover still work when we setup clients outlook?

Appreciate your advise.

Thanks so much.

Regards,

H
