Hi Folks,
My brain is going to explode with all this info im reading about migrating from exchange 2007 to 2013. Here is my scenario.
I know that i am supposed to install SP3 on my exchange 2K7 server before i can use the MS approved way of migrating/coexistence, the issue with that is that every time i go to update my exchange server, it breaks something and i have to uninstall the update(s) in order to get the box functioning again. So i've been kicking around a few other ideas.
1. putting up another fully patched/updated exchange 2k7 server and migrating to it first. -> My question with this method is can i do a staged migration and have users running from the new box as well as the old or would i have to do a copy of the storage groups then cut over....or is this just a dumb method all together?
2. using 3rd party tool to migrate to the new 2013 server
any thoughts or alternatives? The biggest thing i would like to be able to do is run them in some sort of coexistence mode so i don't have to do it all in one shot.
thanks for any insight.
