Hello,
I have an exchange 2010 server w/sp3 and rollup running on Windows Server 2008 R2 with all the updates.
I enabled archive for a user.
The user would like a 5 year autoarchive on his inbox (and subfolders) and a 2 year autoarchive policy on his sent items. His profile had the default retention policy applied to it.
In EMC, I clicked on Orangization, mailbox, retention policy tags
I created a person 2 year move tag, personal tag, move to archive 730
I then went to retention policies, default archive and retention and selected add and then selected the new tag.
I applied and it shows as retention enabled - true
in the exchange shell, I ran - start-ManagedFolderAssistant –Identity thisusersname
It gave no error
I opened thisusers outlook and went to sent folders, properties, policy and the 2 year was an option now. I said OK and closed and nothing happened - no files were moved to the archive even though the inbox one works fine.
I tried creating a separate archive policy with more tags and applying it to his mailbox in EMC. I then ran the managedfolder update and opened outlook again
I applied the policy to sent items and again no sent folder in the online archive and no files moved.
I saw they had old items in their deleted folder and ran a policy on it - again - no transfer to the online archive file.
Can you tell me what step(s) I missed?
