We are almost complete migrating our users from Exchange 2010 to Office365. Since I have not been involved in the Office 365 migration, I have been tasked to find out what would be necessary to shut down our local Exchange 2010 cluster mailbox servers. More specifically, I have been tasked with converting mailbox users to mail enabled users. (this also would include mail contacts and mail users). Thanks.
Below is a response from another post from the Office365 newsgroup:
For how to convert the mailbox user to mail enable user, currently there is no Microsoft document about converting the mailbox user to mail enable user in Exchange 2010.
I suggest you post the requirement at the following TechNet forum for on-premises Exchange server since the TechNet Exchange engineers are more professional on the issue. This is so you will get professional support on the issue.

Thanks for your understanding.
