Hi all,

Have got thrown into the deep end with an exchange 2013 single server environment setup by someone else, with a large number of errors.

Most I have managed to fix, however EWS is not happy and I believe it has to do with the following events:

App event log: Event ID 579

Removal of permissions from process "c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\w3wp.exe" (PID=8392, LABEL=MSExchangeServicesAppPool) failed with error code 0x80070005.

System event log: Event ID 5009

A process serving application pool 'MSExchangeServicesAppPool' terminated unexpectedly. The process id was '8392'. The process exit code was '0x5'.

Initially I thought it was a local system logon issue, however that turned out to be the health mailboxes that were stuff - and re-creating them stopped new logon failures for "system" showing up in the security log.

The MSExchangeServicesAppPool is configured to use localsystem, I have tried increasing the maximum worker processes and the queue length - which seem to increase the amount of time between errors, but not fix the errors.

If I create a new app pool and assign the 3 ews web apps to the app pool, the error also occurs with the new app pool.

I've tried a bunch of other things, but I'm not sure all of them were relevant to this issue in the end!

I've run out of ideas with this one - so suggestions would be appreciated.
