When opening the "in-place eDiscovery and hold" tab of the Compliance Management feature in Exchange 2013 I receive an error:
error
The version of mailbox 'Microsoft Exchange:b217d012-7313-4246-a8fb-9b3eeb022ee5:SERVER2\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database:SERVER2.agsd.local' is too low, expected version:Exchange2010_SP1 and above, actual version: Version 8.3 (Build 83.0). Please move the mailbox to the server in higher
version to match the expected version, and then try this again.
The server it's referencing is a Ex2007 server. However, this mailbox is actually on our Exchange 2013 server.
I followed the instructions here to recreate the Discovery System Mailbox to no avail:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg588318%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx
I believe this may be leftover issues from a botched Exchange 2013 install. I had to remove Ex2013 and reinstall it. In the process I had to modify some of the arbitration mailboxes (federated, migration, system, etc.) with a different "homeMDB" path to allow Ex2013 to install properly. I may have modified more accounts than I had to.
I can find no reference to the Discovery System Mailbox on the Ex2007 server, but apparently there's a reference to it existing there somewhere
