I want to understand how retention policy and MFA process on source database.
Example. I have 3 databases named DB1, EX15DB1, Archive1.
All user's mailboxes are in DB1.
I want to move mailboxes to EX15DB1 and enable Archive mailbox and retention policy to move emails older than 180 days to archive mailbox.
I made a script that moves mailbox to new db, enables archive and retention policy and runs management folder assistant. This workflow process from one mailbox to another by cycle.
Question.
When retention policy implemented and MFA made it's job by moving old emails to archive mailbox, when the space in original DB file will be freed. Will it be immediately or all this messages will exist in original database for some time (for DeletedItemRetention
interval for example).
