Hi Folks,
we are running following environment for Exchange 2010
3 Mailbox server with Single DAG
3 Hub/ CAS (multirole) with NLB
2 Edge Servers are used for routing email through Exchange Online Protection (EOP)
OWA and Autodiscover is published through TMG
For Migration purpose, we are planning to introduce following Exchange 2013 environment.
4 Mailbox + CAS (multirole) servers with Single DAG
3 Edge Servers
After introducing Exchange 2013 in the environment - Our plan for switching over email services; is to publish OWA and Autodiscover services through Hardware Load Balancer (HLB) and continue email routing with Edge 2010 and Edge 2013. i.e., both Edge will keep route email to Exchange Online Protection (EOP)
once it is successful we will start moving production mailboxes to Exchange 2013.
we would like to know, is it a good idea to keep multiple Edge Transport servers for email routing or we should remove Edge 2010 subscription and create new subscription with only 2013 Edge Servers? or please suggest better approach for routing email until we completely remove Exchange 2010 from our environment.
Are there some other points that we need to consider?
Thanks.
Thanks, Sheeraz
