Hoping someone can clear this confusion up for me. I am running Exchange 2013. I am trying to disable content/malware/spyware filtering as we have another filter in place that handles this.
In research I have found TechNet guides that refer to Content-Filtering, Spam and Malware Filtering and Anti-Spam settings and how to disable.
What I am unsure of is whether these are actually all referring to the same thing. I have run the script Disable-AntimalwareScanning with success and the transport agent "Malware Agent" does show as False. But I see other info that says set contentFilterConfig Enabled to false. I have gone ahead and done this. Are these to separate functions or should I just need to run Disable-AntimalwareScanning?
Lastly, in the Exchange web Console under "protection" malware filter; I see the Default policy still shows as enabled. What is this referring to? Is this something else I need to turn off?
