Logs not Truncating after backup

I have two 2013 exchange servers in DAG, one at remote site.

local site has tape drive.  so the local exchange server is passive, and backup exec is backing up from the passive copy.

the logs are getting out of control, not being cleared, even though it is checked to "backup full and truncate logs".

the backup is successful, but the logs are not truncated.

I see two errors that standout:

1)

RPC request to the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service for log truncation failed for database ExchangeDB\primaryexchange. Error: Failed to notify source server 'secondaryexchange.mydomain.com' about the local truncation point. Hresult: 0xc8000713. Error: Unable to find the file.

2)

The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process jobs in a mailbox database.

Database: Missing database (9c6b927c-0e01-4bea-8b1a-6636a7c34df9)

Error: Database '9c6b927c-0e01-4bea-8b1a-6636a7c34df9' doesn't exist.

i just recently removed 2 databases to get us down to the one database in our dag group.

is the reason the logs are not truncating because exchange does not see this phantom database?
