Hello! We have a couple of subnets here with DC's on each of them. Each subnet is able to communicate with the others. This is just a logical segmentation.
I created new sites and subnets that correlate with each subnet. I then attached the appropriate subnet to the site.
I moved the servers out of Default-First-Site-Name. Once I did that, I started getting some issues with Exchange 2013. One of which are event log entries that show something similar to this:
The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process jobs in a mailbox database.
Database: DPTemp
Error: An attempt to logon cross-site for Mdb 'xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx' was prevented to Server 'xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx' in Site 'Domain.local/Configuration/Sites/Main'. Local site is 'Domain.local.Local/Configuration/Sites/Default-First-Site-Name'.
The second thing that broke was that the Global Address List was unavailable to those using Outlook in online, or non cached mode.
I moved the server and subnet from the new site "Main', back to the Default-First-site-Name site, and the issues went away.
I am guessing this has something to do with the "EdgeSyncService" item in the Default site, but I am not completely sure.
Is there anything special that has to be done to accomplish what I am trying to do, as far as Exchange 2013 is concerned?
Thank you for any info!
