Hi
Strange one this...
We run SBS2011 with Exchange 2010 but was hitting the user/device ceiling due to my Boss wasn't prepared to delete some ex-employee users.
So I expected we would have to migrate to an Exchange 2013 standalone server. I set up a 2012 R2 added Exchange 2013 but haven't done anything with yet. It appears to have found the existing 2010 Exchange and has for some reason grown to a 123GB VM (Hyper-V). It holds no mailboxes but maybe is doing some sort of replication? I don't know.
My Boss has since relented on the user deletion after I setup a general mailbox and routed all the ex-employees mail there so we don't miss anything that may arrive in the future.
So my question is am I safe just to shut down the Exchange 2013 and de-commission the VM?
Thanks
Daren
