Hi there,
Currently I am working on design for migrating an enterprise customer from Exchange 2007 with resource scenario to Exchange 2013.
What I noticed is that for Linked mailbox to User mailbox conversion there is no data @ TechNet, it is only available for Exchange 2010 [ http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201694(v=exchg.141).aspx ] .
I noticed also that for Exchange 2010 conversion, there are a comment quoted below for Exchange 2013 conversion :
"
...for the Ex 2013 Users
...
Set-User -id <USER> - LinkedMasterAccount
sourcedomain\user -LinkedDomainController dc.sourcedomain.local
-LinkedCredential(get-credential)
will get u an error, because u are not allowed to convert a user mailbox to a linked mailbox.
My workaround: change ADS attribute of the user connected to the user mailbox to "msExchRecipientTypeDetails --> 2" and use the above command afterwards.
So my question ist there a "better" way, to get this going?
Regards"
The issue is that another comment is saying that this workaround is invalid !!!! .
The question is that is there an official way to do the conversion with Exchange 2013, or alternatively I will need to stage the migration to an Exchange 2010 SP3 server, do the conversion then move to Exchange 2013 .
