Background.
We have both Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 co-existing at the moment. On 2007, we did have public folders.
Some users were migrated to 2013. Then the public folders on 2007 were completely deleted. Then more users were migrated.
The users who were migrated in the first batch are having problems with the login popping up in outlook. Checking connection status indicates that its trying to connect to the old public folders. The recently migrated users have not had this problem.
So far have tried:-
1. Repair on mailbox in outlook.
2. ADSI edit to ensure public folders really are gone.
I don't understand how this is happening. Its as if something if flagged for the users mailbox database but it doesn't work like this does it? I can't understand how outlook determines that a public folder still exists?
