Hey all. I know this isn't a VMWare forum per se, but there are a lot of really sharp Exchange people on here who I am willing to bet have dealt with my situation. My VMWare engineer and technical manager has asked me to schedule Exchange maintenance on my DAG servers to bring them down one at a time, raise the virtual hardware levels to current version, power back on and verify functionality. Rinse+repeat for all Exchange servers.
In my travels I have never needed to do this and google has squat on this process. Has anyone ever done this to a virtualized Exchange environment, raising the VM version on all Exchange servers after they have been established and running for a while? Are there any pitfalls or things to look out for? It seems safe and I don't see why I would have any issues, but as all IT people know, sometimes there are hidden pitfalls in what seems like a straightforward process. If anybody can advise it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!
