Activating Mailbox Database at a Site with no CAS Server from same DAG - Exchange 2013

Hello All...... I have an environment where there are two-2 DAGs (DAG1 and DAG2). Both DAGs have similar configuration i.e. they have three-3 members each with two-2 being MBX and CAS and on-1 member being just the MBX.  The combined roles hold the active copies of the databases while single MBX just hold the passive copy of the databases which are active at the combined roles.  There are two-2 Sites with each site holding combined roles as well as single MBX.  DAG active passive configuration is such that Site A's combined Servers have passive copies on Site B's single MBX Server and similarly combined servers of Site B have passive copy on single MBX server on Site B.

Questions:

1.  If I were to activate the passive copy at MBX Server, would everything work fine?  Or besides the activation, I need to do something else as well to make the mailboxes connect to server?

2.  Just to be clear when database is activated on the single MBX Server, there would not be any CAS server part of that DAG on thatSite either A or B.  Can that cause an issue?  Should there always be a CAS Server part of the same DAG where there is active mailbox database per site?

3.  OR just a single CAS Server in environment is enough to provide service to users irrespective of how many DAGs are in the Site?

4.  Do we need at least one CAS on each of the sites that hold DAG members? So that they can serve databases that are switched to that particular site?

 THanks in advance.
