We currently have an exchange 2013 org with a 2 member DAG. We use to have a exchange 2016 edge server but we had to remove the subscription as it would not boot. Now we have a new server to run more VM's. Now i am looking to implement the edge server again. 2 questions:
since we use to have an edge server but had to remove the subscription, is there anything in AD that we need to do to prepare for the addition of this edge server (which will have the same computer name and ip).
can i install the transport role and not immediately add the subscription? I need email to continue in the current setup for some time before i fully switch to the edge server
