Allow duplicate email addresses in Exchange

Hi all,

We are implementing a CRM that syncs and created mail-enabled contacts in Exchange 2013, which are automatically added to Distribution Groups. One problem we are facing is that every user doesn't have an email address, and some are wanting to use generic email addresses for their business (admin@business.com or accounts@organisation.com)

When one user users this email address it will create the mail-enabled contact fine, but subsequent contacts fail due to a duplicate address.

Does anyone know of a way to get around this?  I've though about somehow doing a if then check, so see if the email address already exists, then create unique email address in business and forward email to the orginal email address (e.g. if admin@business.com already exists, then create business12123@mydomain.com and forward to admin@business.com), but then this process gets very complicated in terms of updating and keeping everything automated.

Has anyone else done something similar to this?

Thanks

Luke
