Hello,
I want to run a Get-MailboxStatistics in a scheduled script as a user with Exchange View Only Administator rights.
However, it seems that you need Exchange "Organisational Management" rights to call Get-MailboxStatistics.
Is there any alternative to running scheduled scripts as Organisation Admins just to run a "get" command? It seems risky to me.
This is the error I get:
Get-MailboxStatistics : Failed to commit the change on object "DAGA-MDB-1 (Mailbox Database 1870365059)" because access is denied.
At C:\temp\ps-test\reportvips.ps1:269 char:42
+ $VipMailboxStats = get-mailboxstatistics <<<< $Vip
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [Get-MailboxStatistics],
MapiAccessDeniedException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : C7D6993F,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.MapiTasks
.GetMailboxStatistics
Thanks,
- Alan.
PS - I thought "Get" commands didn't make changes anyway?! Very worrying!
