Can someone assist in sorting my issue, thanks in advance. Public folders stop working after a failover to a ‘replica’ with error ‘This folder can’t be opened’, New Installation of Exchange 2010 sp3
Quick background on platform setup:
3 Node DAG across two AD Sites.
Site A (main site)
EXA001- role=CAS/HUB
EXA002- role=CAS/HUB
MBA001-role=Mailbox DB, Exchange DB with Default PF DB=PFMBA01
MBA002-role=Mailbox DB,PF DB=PFMBA02 (replica)
Site B (DR site)
EXB001- role=CAS/HUB
MBB001-role=Mailbox DB, PF DB=PFMBB01(replica)
Replication was setup using the ‘brute force’ process via the EMC and not via Scripts (the script option was not known at the initial installation)
Referral list is PFMBA01, PFMBA02, PFMBB01
Test setup:
- OWA can browse and access PF and subfolders, I click on any mail enabled folders and its OK
- Server MBA001 is powered down, Default Public folder DB PFMBA01
- Changed the Default Public folder DB to PFMBA02
- OWA access to PF is temporarily down, I refreshed or logged off OWA and back on
- OWA can browse to PF replica (should be PFMBA02) but cannot access any subfolder’s data
- OWA, once I click a subfolder it shows ‘loading’ and then error ‘This folder can’t be opened’
