Hello, I'm in the process of deploying Exchange 2013 in my environment. I already read
this "Server Fault" topic but I'd like to have your opinion too.
On the licensing portal I see an ISO of about 4GB size. The CU22 of Exchange is about 1,6GB size. If I'm not wrong the Exchange setup will look for updates before installing the software, so I think that also the ISO of Exchange 2013 SP1 from the licensing
portal will download the CU22, doesn't it?
What's the best practice for new deployments? Download and run the latest CU available or run the setup from the ISO downloaded from the licensing portal and let the setup to download all the updates? Another element, I work for an italian company, so I need
that my clients get localized messages/notifications... Don't konw whether the two setups differ in this aspect (multilanguage, etc).
PS: the Exchange 2013 deployment is the second part of a 2 steps migration from Exchange 2003. I moved to Exchange 2010 in 2014 and I waited until now for the second step. This is the reason for 2013 and not 2016. In 2014 there was XCH2013 available not 2016.
;)
Thank you,
Francesco B.
