Strange error with an Exchange 2013 build.
2 VM servers in DAG in a sub-site.
Windows firewall not running. No other firewall. No windows level anti-virus.
When the servers were fresh built I could do the following with no issues, i.e. both would show mounted
Server 1 - Get-Mailboxdatabase server2DB -Status |ft mounted
Server 2- Get-Mailboxdatabase server1DB -Status |ft mounted
After creating DAG and adding both servers to it I get the following when running same command against server2DB from server 1, or indeed a server in the parent site. Server 2 itself is of course quite happy with the mount status.
WARNING: Exchange can't connect to the Information Store service on serverserver1.fqdn. Make sure that that service is running and that there is network connectivity to the server.
I believe that command would use RPC, port 135 on server 2 is accessible from server 1.
I've subsequently tried removing server from the DAG then the DAG itself. Still getting same error.
Removed Exchange from 2nd server and had OS rebuilt then re-installed Exchange, ended up same as above after adding DAG.
Anybody got any ideas as to what I can check?
