Problem with Named properties and Exchange 2007

I have an Exchange 2007 SP3 UR8 server (W2k3 R2 SP2) that is running into the non-MAPI quota of 8192 (event ID 9667).  I have read numorous articles describing what this limit is and how it has been fixed, but I still don't really understand how to fix it.  From what I understand, I have three options (please, correct me if I'm wrong):

1.  Enable "MayCreate" so emails can continue to go through even though no more NamedProperties are being created.  This is find until the max is reached (is the max 8k, 16k, or 32k?).

2. Increase the quota to allow more NamedProperties to be created (in the registry, right?).  How long will it last?  How much can I actually increase the quota?

3. Create a new database, move everyone over to the new database, delete the old database.

I'm still confused on exactly how much I can increase the non-mapi quota, if at all.  I found the non-mapi limit listed in the registry under the GUID for the database, but i'm not sure if I can just increase that number or if also have to add the MAPI and replica identifier quotas.  I've also only seen one reference to unmounting and mounting the database after making that change, so I'm not sure if that actually needs to be done.

Again, I've read many different pages/articles on this, but they're not answering my "between the lines" questions.  Does anyone have experience with this?

Chris
