Is there a way to export Exchange 2010 mailboxes to PST files by excluding a certain type of Message class?
The message classes that we want to exclude are "IPM.Note.EnterpirseVault.Shortcut" and "IPM.Note.EnterpirseVault.PendingArchive"

My organization is planning to move my on premise exchange mailboxes to office 365 .
For this we have to move the data in archive mailbox for all users back to Main mailbox.
I use exchange native archiving. Is it possible. How can I do it.
We have only 50 mailboxes. and on exchange server 2013.

When creating a new profile, is there a way to instruct outlook to automatically use a different SMTP address than the user account's primary SMTP address for it's Autodiscover setup of the new mailbox? I'm trying to map a shared mailbox and it works if I manually put in the shared mailboxes smtp address but was hoping I could automate that.

As per title, we are seeing very random RPCPing times, even from servers in the server VLAN, so not a WAN issue or anything like that.
We have a farm of 7 Exchange 2013 Enterprise servers, All CU12. All running on 2012 R2. They are all in a DAG. There is a NetScaler load balancer in front of these servers which the clients point to. Generally works OK, though we do sometimes get Outlook issues where it drops off and we do not know why.
Testing with the following command:
rpcping -t ncacn_http -o RPCProxy=netscalerVIP.domain.com -P "username,domain,*" -H 1 -F 3 -a connect -u 9 -v 3 -s MailServer1 -I "username,domain,*" -e 6001 -i 20
In the last few minutes alone (while it is working OK) we have seen it as slow as 1293MS for a single RPCping (-i 1) and as fast as 20 RPCpings in 200ms.
Clearly something is not right somewhere for it to be that erratic.
How do I now look at this from the Exchange server side to ensure the issue is not with the Exchange server itself?

we plan to migrate our root domain sub domain setup to one central ad domain.
atm we got a exchange dag that hosts all our mailboxes, we want to accomplish a setup where we can migrate each user to the new ad forest/exchange...
the problem is email receive we got a ironport that delivers the authorative domains to the exchange server via @domain mappings
if we move an user account to the new domain the emails get delivered to the old domain/exchange server...
does anyone knows a tool or method to route emails to a exchange server based on the emailaddress of the user not the whole domain?
all tools/email relays we found can only route whole domains to a server not single email addresses
we looking for something we put between our ironport and the exchange servers that listens on port 25 accepts all incoming mails and route it to the new or old exchange server using a list of emailaddresses
for example:
user1@domain1.com is migrated to the new ad forest and got a mailbox on the exchange server sam account name and emailaddress is exact the same as in the source domain...
our ironport receives mail for this user and delivers it to the "tool"...the tool look on his list...if user1@domain1.com is migrated to the new domain then it delivers the email to the new exchange server in the new forest if not it delivers the mail to the original source forest

I am in the process of setting up exchange 2013 SP1 CU 12. The email is currently a POP3 system hosted off site. Is there any information that would be like a cookbook for instructions. Exchange is installed, and while there is a ton of information available, there does not seem to be any one stop shop that will take the installation from ground zero to handling the email and group calendar.
Since this is the first time being exposed to exchange, knowing what server 2003 and exchange 2007 is not a helpful resourts. The exchange is running on server 2012 R2 Standard edition.

We are giving permissions to a domain account for our backup system to Exchange servers for the user rights assignment of "replace a process level token". However, when this GPO is applied, the existing entries are deleted. Thus removing several"IIS APPPOOL\NET v4.3" and similar accounts from this policy.
Will the removal of the IIS APPPOOL accounts from this local policy have any adverse impact on Exchange?

What is the most efficient way to create a distribution group and populating the group with external phone numbers for text messages. I tried creating the group via the emc i could not copy paste the phone numbers. I tried via the exchange management console The phone numbers below is a sample. We have approx. 180 groups to create. We have about a thousand phone number to enter in Exchange. Because they are external phone number - would I have to create mail contacts for every number ?

hi all,
we test in-place-hold with 3 year Duration (number of day hold item). Then we Change it to 1 day (number of days hold item) under e-discovery.
Database Keep deleted item is one day for the test.
User delete items but we find items from 2015.
why can i find deleted mail from year 2015?

We are having issues with Office365 users sending to our exchange server. We are a small exchange shop. No office365 here. But we have had 3 DIFFERENT domains sending emails our direction receiving the '550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired' returned email error messages. When using gmail or any other mail service we've tried this issue does not happen. What does Office365/hosted exchange look for differently than any other service?

I am pretty much an exchange rookie here - but we are moving our on prem non-Exchange mail environment to Office 365 Exchange Online in about 2 weeks.
I just came across a scenario I am looking for guidance on. We have a in-house developed application that handles a majority of our ERP functions (WMS, Accounting, Purchasing, etc). Part of this application generates and emails purchase orders from the person that is doing the purchasing.
I have created an account (enterprise.system) that my developers can use to successfully send email (as enterprise.system). However, a requirement of the system is that it can send Purchase Orders to external vendors as, for example, me. The error they are receiving states that enterprise.system does not have permission to send as the sender. This makes complete sense.
My question is - how is this problem typically solved? I know I can't use direct send because I need to send to external users. Should I / Would you give this account send as permissions on each individual mailbox? Is there a better way? That seems like a little bit of a management nightmare.

I am using Exchange 2010 and I am trying to change all users default calander permissions. I found a good PS scirpt that reads all mailboxes and changes the permission, but there are few calender which can not be changed.
I get this error
