I'd like to know if there are any prerequisites to take both exams 70-341 & 70-342, and what certifications will I get if I passed them. I'm a network Engineer and I've worked on a huge exchange 2003-2013 migration project and I'd like to solidify this experiences I've gained with a certificate. I've never took any MS certification before.

I have purchased a wild card certificate to use with my Exchange install. I have completed the certificate wizard within Exchange but next to it it says "Invalid" - how can I find out why its invalid?

I am trying to debug some connectivity issues related to accessing some on-prem mailboxes as well as some mailboxes that are being moved to Office 365.
I wanted to use the Remote Connectivity Analyzer but over the last couple of days I have been unable to get past the verification step so that I can actually run the tests. I have tried using Edge, IE11 and Chrome on Windows 10, and Windows Server 2012R2. I have had people looking over my shoulder as I type in the verification code to be sure I am putting in the correct code and I keep getting the following message:
"testconnectivity.microsoft.com says: Verifying the challenge failed. Please refresh the page and try again"
The page specifically says that the code is NOT case-sensitive but I have tried it both ways and still get the error.
Anyone run into this? Work arounds? Any thought would be a help,

We are planning to deploy exchange server in resource forest and account forest topology where user accounts will be in one AD forest and Exchange Mailboxes in other AD forest.
1) What are pro and cons of these kind of deployments?
2) Does GAL, Auto discovery, Active Sync, Outlook Anywhere and other features works properly?
3)Which are the features are not supported in this kind of deployment?
3) Is there any options other than using Linked Mailboxes?

I have installed Exchange 2013 with Mailbox and Client Access Server Role.
For reverse proxy, I have configured Windows 2012 IIS ARR 2.5.
Although I am able to connect Outlook Web App using ARR, none of the other Exchange Web Services work (Autodiscover, OAB, OOF and Outlook Anywhere)
I have configured separate URL's for each of the services as per the TechNet blog article http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/08/02/part-2-reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr.aspx
If I point my DNS to Exchange 2013 server directly, then everything works.
If I try to open the Autodiscover URL from ARR server https://fqdnofexchange/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml , I get HTTP Error 502.3 - Bad gateway
If I try to open the Autodiscover URL from ARR server https://fqdnofARR/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml , I get page cannot be displayed error.
I have cross checked the URL rewrite rules and they are configured exactly as per the document.

Earlier we used to run below cmdlet which was working in 2K10 but not in 2K16.
Get-mailpublicfolder "mailid" | get-Publicfolder.

Hi,
I tried to move all log files, including diagnostics log files, to another drive. Now I changed all of them back to their original location. Log folders are created again in the right place.
Also changed the REG key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v15\Diagnostics\LogFolderPath back to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\Diagnostics'.
Since I did this I get an error every few minutes:
Event ID: 1016
Source: MSExchangeDiagnostics
Error: Unable to match any connection strings from AD. SqlOutputStream: Cannot find connection string that matches site 'Default-First-Site-Name' with version '3.0' in the list of connection strings. Count: '0' Value(s):
Any idea how to fix this?

Hi,
we have exchange 2013, we want to make autoreply from distribution group every time a mail is received. I read that it is possible to make a fake email and forward from this email to group and so on. Also there are suggestions to create noreply@domain.com mailbox, but there have to be running outlook all the time or otherwise rule won't work. Aren't there any other simpler way?
I am trying to setup a DAG for Exchange 2013. I have one working exchange server with mailboxes on it so far. I was following the guide here http://exchangeserverpro.com/installing-an-exchange-server-2013-database-availability-group/.
I need to remove the databases from the other 2 servers that do not have mailboxes. In ECP when I go to Servers and Databases no databases are displayed. If I hit refresh i get an error window:
Your Request couldn't be completed. Please try again later.
Under Servers > Servers if I edit a server I can see the database listed under "Database and Database availability groups.
Any ideas why I would be unable to view the databases? Does the Guide I linked look to be a good one or can someone recommend a better one?

We have a user who is on litigation hold. Their mailbox has gotten to the size where it's not functioning well. They are asking that we delete messages by date to get rid of some of the baggage. We need to move those messages into their dumpster for legal retention requirements.
My scripting skills are pretty weak so I came up with a clunky method....move the messages from the user (litholdmailbox) to a shared mailbox (repositorymailbox) and then from the repositorymailbox back into the dumpster of the litholdmailbox. One drawback of this is that I don't know how to specify the litholdmailbox dumpster as a target.
Step 1......

Two exchange 2013 servers in DAG group.
when I started the backup on my exchange 2013 server yesterday (using backup exec 2013) I was checking the event viewer and saw a message that database was in dirty shutdown state:
Instance 1: Database headers have been successfully validated. All databases are in a dirty shutdown state. To bring these databases to a clean shutdown state, log generations 8605532 (0x00834f5c) to 8605635 (0x00834fc3) will be required.
But everything looked fine, and I am aware that backup exec will cause that message to falsely popup at times.
when I checked my daily report generate by PS this morning, it showed errors on database availability, and my secondary exchange server (exchangeb) was mounted instead of primary exchange (exchangep).
Message was:
There were database availability check failures for database 'exchangedb' that may be lowering its availability. Availability Count: 1. Expected Availability Count: 2. Detailed error(s): exchangep: Database copy 'exchangedb' on server 'exchangep' has a total (copy plus replay) queue length of 1617 logs, which is higher than the maximum allowed queue length of 400. If you need to activate this database copy, you can use the Move-ActiveMailboxDatabase cmdlet with the -SkipLagChecks and -MountDialOverride parameters to forcibly activate the database copy. If the database does not automatically mount after running Move-ActiveMailboxDatabase successfully, use the Mount-Database cmdlet to mount the database.
Queue was in the thousands when I looked at it, however, about 30 minutes later, the queue length was down to 0, and I was able to make the primary exchange server mounted again.
two questions:
1) would replaying of logs in this way resolve the dirty shutdown state issue?
2)I do have this issue where exchangeb gets mounted in the middle of the night, always thought it was latency issue, as the two exchange severs are at 2 different sites connected via IPSEC tunnel, so it is possible that the dirty shutdown error occurring before this happens was coincidence?
We have Exchange 2013 and are using public folders, migration was completed from Exchange 2010 a few months ago and has been working as a single box successfully since. I am having an issue getting them to sync to the secondary mailbox. Below is the output from a few commands I have run. Everything looks OK to me but I am missing something.
For a reference the Hierarchy appears to be working because I have set one test client to use the "RRV Public folders" database and the folder structure shows up without any delays. I databases are located across 2 sites that are connected through a slow VSAT connection. I have given them 3 days to sync up and the primary box is 20GB and the secondary is 12kb, I assume this is the hierarchy information.

In the past we've never had a problem but we seem to be stuck today. When we try to output the new csr to one of our network shares we see the following error.
"Please use a valid file name when you run the New-ExchangeCertificate cmdlet on server server1 with the -RequestFile parameter. The file should not exist in target folder. Parameter name: RequestFile"
We've use this share location before without problems, the Exchange Trusted Subsystem has write intermissions on this location as described online but we still receive the error. I've tried creating new locations but haven't had any success.
Any suggestions?

HI , we have EX 2010 environment and i am trying to give read only access to user to their OWN mailbox , so they can not send or delete any mails from their mailbox .
This is Client requirement . i used Add-mailboxpermssion -identity username -user username -accessrights readpermission .
But is does not work , user sill able to delete mails from their mailbox ,
And if i remove "NT AUTHORITY\SELF " from mailbox permission it does not allow user to logged in to OWA .
Any suggestions on this,

I am migrating mailboxes from exchange to office 365 but I need to remove the unrouted proxy addresses or email alias from bulk users. I wanted to use CSV file to remove a proxy address or email alias.
I have found a couple of scripts on google but somehow they work on OU level or single user.
