We have a new deployment of Exchange 2013 SP1 with default settings for mailbox limits, quotas etc. Not knowing this limit, using the EAC, we tried to import a 10GB PST into a user's mailbox and it failed. Once we bumped up the quota settings (see below) we made it to 64%. We have a feeling there is a "Baditemslimit", "acceptlargedataloss" , number of large items exceeded, or other that we need to set/change.
1. Is there a report we can generate or look at to see why the import failed-if so, how do we generate it?
2. Should we run the ScanPST tool on any PSTs prior to attempting imports?
3. Is there a way to change the Baditems, acceptlargedataloss, or number of large items exceeded, or other in the EAC or do we have to do these imports using the cmdlets in the EMShell?
4. Since the import failed (actually it failed twice already as we erroneously set the mailbox quota to the wrong higher limits), when we reattempt with same PST file, does it just overwrite what's already in the mailbox, does it append, or should we empty the mailbox and stat over? If we nee'ed to empty the mailbox, how do we do that?
Thanks in advance.
