Hi guys,
Have a 4 node 2013 DAG fully patched with no public folders / PF mailboxes etc.
Someone in IT made an attempt to recover / restore a deleted mailbox. I'm unsure what happened, but after failing to do it successfully, they contacted our infrastructure team who simply reconnected the mailbox properly.
Unfortunately there is a slight issue. The mailbox was named "HR_Advice". Whilst this is working fine, the prior failed attempt to restore it seems to have created a "HR_Advice_Recovered" entry in the address book for all users.
I can't find this entry as a user, contact, shared / resource mailbox etc. Searched AD, regenerated / updated the GAL, address lists and OAB - nothing gets rid of it.
When using OWA, the primary search method shows this entry when searching for "HR advice", but as this address isn't valid people are not getting their emails... In OWA, using the address lists I can see this "HR_Advice_Recovered" entry appears in the "Public Folders" address list... It is the only entry in the list.
This is interesting, mainly because we have never had any PF's of any type on this platform. There's no PF listed in ADSI edit, ECP or EMS.
So the question is - how do I delete this entry?! I cannot find it for love nor money in AD, and as the "Public Folders" address list is default I cannot delete it.
Anyone have any ideas?!
Thanks - Steve
