Dist groups not showing up on 2013 after import of AD dist group from 2003 to 2008 r2

Did a recent migration to 2013 exchange server, the distribution groups are not showing up though. Old ad was 2003 and new one is 2008 r2. Is there something i need to run on exchange server so the AD dist groups start showing up on the exchange server. The users are showing up fine, but not the dist. groups.
