We moved to Windows 10 last year and users are still (for the moment) on 1809 with Outlook 2019 (not 365). On some other systems since
then with 1903 or 1909, I've had an annoying issue when trying to setup outlook. I specify an exchange account but then prompts for microsoft account credentials. I can cancel it, allow it to fail and click retry, cancel the next prompt for a microsoft
account then suddenly it configures exchange fine. On first launch, it will sync the mailbox then say it needs your password. Close outlook and relaunch and everything is good after that. Very annoying and really don't want to have this happen
when users start using VDI for remote access and have to go through this ridiculous mess to get outlook to configure. WHY does this happen? It didn't happen on 1809; only 1903/1909.

Send connector questions
Hi everybody,
maybe this is a basic question but I have a real doubt about it.
We have an Exchange2013 Organization.
There is an outbound connector to send mails throught smarthost servers, but, instead of servers ip's in this section, there are two "--"
What does it mean?
I've been reading that "--" is something releated to spaceaddress but always refered to domains, not to servers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Default MRM Policy not not accepted
Good day!
Added an Archive for some users. New folder with archive is appeared, but Retention policy which i added for mailbox is not apply. Wait more then 2 days
Tested:
1) Start-ManagedFolderAssistant for mailbox severeal times
2) Migrate DB to another Server
3) Restart server
4) Test-ServiceHealth - no error
5) Get-RetentionPolicy "Default MRM Policy" | FL - (IsValid - True, Tags Visible)
6) Test through OWA
7) All DB and Index - without errors
8) RetentionHoldEnabled $false
Previosly its worked well for all users. It's start after ended place on disk C.
What else can i check/do ?

Renew Exchange SAN Cert
Hi all,
We purchased our mail.xxxx.xxx SSL certificate from GODaddy. I downloaded the zip file and extracted the files. I followed their instructions on the site to install the certificate files.
First, you must install the intermediate certificate to your Microsoft® Exchange Server 2016. (did this)
Then, to install the primary SSL certificate, you must complete the pending request, import the certificate file, and then select the services to which the certificate applies.
I tried to do the certificate request but was unsuccessful so I called GoDaddy. the Tech I talked to said that I did not have to submit a request; just download the files and use them. I am now stuck. I can't figure out how to renew my certificate using the RENEW button. I have put the files in a share and gave the Exchange Trusted SubSystem modify rights. I have also opened the *.pem file from GoDaddy, copied the"begin certificate..to end certificate key", and created a file with extension Exchange.req (found this on another post) Unfortunately, I get this error: "please use a valid file name". When I open the *.crt file that I downloaded from GoDaddy, the correct certificate information is there. Perhaps I just need to import the *.crt file? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Users are able to send email using their Outlook client even though their accounts are locked out. No configuration has change except I added a new Windows Server 2019 domain controller. I am in the process of migrating from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2019.

In the event log of the target server l have the following.

I have attempted multiple databases from multiple sources to this server and it always fails, even though it is currently hosting active and passive databases. Anyone have an idea on what this could be?

Cant create shared mailbox

Blank page after login
I get a blank page after logging in EAC or OWA in Exchange 2013. I tried to find solution in internet but couldnt. Instruction aboun ssl binding couldnt help me. i already read it.I get blank page only when i try open it with hostname, but if i get it using ip address all work fine. nslookup works fine on Exchange Server

Updating the send-connector cert to the new one
Hi,
I´ve imported the new cert from the external CA and assigned it to the services. But before deleting the old I of course have to change it on the send and receive connector too.
I try to change it but I get this:

That kind of makes sense, since the old expiring cert and the new have identical TlsCertificateName details, but obviously different thumbprints. But since you don´t assign via thumbprint it doesn´t change.
I´m thinking I could assign a self-signed cert temporarilly, this would allow me to then delete the old cert and then can assign the new cert. Would that work and what type of outage would I risk causing?
Any other suggestions?

I have an Exchange 2013with the latest roll up applied, I know it will be released in October of this year.
I got a 100 Mbps internet bandwidth to the cloud.
I want to upload 2TB of my 40 user mailboxes to the O365 cloud. in one weekend.
How does Exhange 2013 limit me in the upload, knowing that my server is virtual and has a 1 Gbps card.
There is some alternative solution that I can apply so that the Exchange does not limit me in the upload

Mailbox Export Request - Job Pickup Failure
I created an export request. I see the request is still queued. Checking the status of the job, I see the following message
Job pickup failure. Invalid Job - Orphaned Couldn't find a valid index entry for request
I tried searching the internet but didn't come across much. Any idea on what might cause this error?

autodiscover certificate warning
Exchange 2013. I added an authoritative domain (we'll call it new.com), and changed the primary SMTP for several users from user@old.com to user@new.com. I have a CNAME record for autodiscover.new.com that points to servername.autodiscover.old.com,
yet for some reason, users with the new primary SMTP address are getting security warnings about the certificate for autodiscover.new.com. Can someone explain how I would correct this?

Office 365 Hybrid Configuration - Register Hybrid Agent Error
Hi we're in the process of setting up a hybrid integration on our servers with the view of moving everything to the cloud in the future.
I've set up the agent on one of our servers and am going through the config. Then I hit an issue

Is "Exchange Admin" a built-in user account?
Hello,
We are in the middle of migrating to O365/EXO from Exchange 2013 on-prem. While going through our list of mailboxes, we noticed one for user "Exchange Admin", which is literally a user object in AD with the address "eadmin@<ourdomain.com>". We have no idea what this account is for. The object creation timestamp puts it right around the time of our last migration from Ex2007 to Ex2013. So, the question is does anyone know if Exchange may have created this account automatically for some reason? As in, is it standard for Exchange to create a user account called "Exchange Admin" automatically? I suspect not, but I'm hesitant to remove. Will probably disable for now and see if anything breaks.
Edit: the only group that this account is a member of is "Domain Users"

Allowing specific users the ability to "Send As" any/all users on Exchnage 2013, without losing GPO logon scripts
We have exchange 2013 on premise, and want to setup the IT team (2 people) with permission to "Send As" any mailbox user on the system. This is so they can forward emails to the support desk system as the original email sender, so that tickets are created automatically for that original person..
Testing:
If we add the two AD users (IT Staff) to the 'Domain Admins' group, this works. They can "Send As" any user just as we want. However, members of the Domain Admins group cannot run our logon script which is delivered via GPO. This means our IT guys don't get mapped drives!
When the same users are taken out of Domain Admins, the GPO logon script works, but of course they can no longer 'Send As' whomever they like!
Question:
I'm going to suppose that the GPO logon script is filtered out for Domain Admins to prevent administrative problems, and so I cant add my IT people to this group without forfeiting logon script functionality. Since members of the Domain Admin group can "Send As" to any user, including newly created ones without running a scheduled script, there must be a way to enable a different group or AD user account to do the same. What would I have to do to a user in AD or Exchange to enable "Send As" for current and newly created mailboxes that doesn't involve a script running regularly, just like the Domain Admins group members (but without the issue running GPO logon scripts)?

Updating from CU2 to CU23, precautions
Hello,
I recently took over the IT roles for 2 companies and am new to using Exchange. Through months of working on these servers I've learned enough to do the simple stuff. It recently came to my attention that they haven't been updated since 2013 (SERIOUSLY?!). Some users recently can't use the calendar on a computer (but on their phone it works fine), as well as OWA problems when searching for old emails. I'm hoping this cleans things up, among other things.
Anyways, what precautions should I take before updating these servers. They are both on-premise at a M-F site. I'm running a full backup using Carbonite and am cautious about this update leading to other problems. Also, about how long would this take? I'm planning on doing it over a weekend.
