Permissions on Shared Mailbox

Hello,

I just want to know why and what is the purpose of assigning Full Access and Send As permission to mail-enabled Universal security groups on Shared Mailboxes. Under what scenarios is this useful?

In my exchange 2013 environment, I only see Full Access and Send As permission assigned to Universal security groups (non mail- enabled). 

How mail-enabled Universal security groups are different than non mail-enabled Universal security groups as far as Full Access and Send As permissions are assigned on Shared Mailboxes?

Kindly explain in details.

Hello

for my Exchange Hybride configuration , i Have 3000 Mailboxes and 400 Mailboxes will be migrated to office 365 .

I will configure my MX record to refer to EOP for all inbound smtp traffic and all mailboxes on-prmise or Office 365.

Shall i pay EOP license for all mailboxes which will be stayed on may Exchange on-prime for filtring purpose caise i have red that on the below link.

Being Blacklisted due to rDNS

I keep getting blacklisted due to an incorrect or missing rDNS setting. How should I properly configure reverse lookup on my exchange server? Any suggestions?

I have tried to add the option to request:  -BadItemLimit '100' -LargeItemLimit 50 -AcceptLargeDataLoss -AllowLargeItems
I run New-MailboxRepairRequest for mailbox and database: -CorruptionType ProvisionedFolder, SearchFolder, AggregateCounts, FolderView
Open mailbox with MFCMapi and delete rules

Please help how to solve this problem?

Exchange Server Rule - Include External Sender email address into Warning disclaimer Text

We have a warning disclaimer rule in Exchange server 2013 that is working perfectly so far.

As you see the last sentence where I was trying to add external sender's email address. How can I include external sender's email address to it?

I checked this for a possible solution which suggested to use "%%email%%" attribute, but it came out as empty value.

"The Microsoft Exchange Diagnostics service terminated unexpectedly"

Hi all, this happens about twice per hour and started some days ago, no reconfigs etc that should make it do that as far as I can find. Have been running CU6 for some months without this happening until recently.

Also getting AppEventID 1007:

Failed to create or start performance logs with error: System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range.

Found this article http://blogs.technet.com/b/anya/archive/2014/11/25/microsoft-exchange-diagnostics-service-crashing-post-cu6-upgrade.aspx, but I do not actually understand what the "fix" really is here, many steps are made for Diagnostics buth which of those are necessary to take? And I'm not so into exporting/importing those XMLs.. I have only one E2013-server also.

Hope someone can clarify this. I was thinking of installing CU7 if that might fix it, but I'm not sure if I dare in danger of running into trouble with things not working as they should.

Exchange 2010/2013 SMTP Relay port 587

Hi all i am trying to configure SMTP auth for an external service to send emails through our Exchange environment.

I am able to to get this to work but only with the default connector "Client ServerName". I would like to create a custom connector for to use for this so we have a way to track the emails through our system easily through the SMTP Protocol logs. However if i create a new connector scoped for the IPs supplied by the vendor, email stops working from the external source. All i can see in the SMTP Rec Protocol logs is the below and then it terminates.

Mail flow in a hybrid environment

I have a hybrid environment. I choose to keep a few mailboxes stored in my on-prem server and the rest in my cloud server. I have a common domain name (@abc.com) for both the servers. Now, if someone sends an email to user1@abc.com, how will the mail flow? How will the architecture figure out whether the mailbox is stored in on-prem or cloud and route the message to that mailbox?

Can I change Exchanger server product key to Standard from Enterprise on installed Exchange server?

But customer said. He want to change product key to Standard.

Can I change product key without reinstall Exchange? How can I do it?

Adding a second domain with wildcard cert

Hi,

We need to add a second domain in our Exchange Server but we are using a wild card certificate. Do we have to change the certificate to a multiple SAN Certificate to let the other domain users access owa, outlook, autodiscover by this new domain?

Secondly, is creating MX record will be enough for the new domain.

Hello

I am a GMAIL user on private domain sending email to a outlook.com user on private domain and continuously get these errors when sending email. These domains are for large multi national companies so changing email addresses is not possible.

The sending email domain has SPF and DKIM records for authentication and is not listed in any SPAM database. We have checked absolutely everything on our end but cannot find an issue. 

I have been trough the process with Outlook.com Deliver-ability Support to check the IP's of G Mail servers are not blocked - and as expected they are not. 

I am really looking for some help on how to resolve this issue or even someone to contact.

Configure IIS for multi-tenant / multi-domain

Hi all,
My environment : Exchange 2013 server CU23 (Client Access + Mailbox Roles) , hosting domain abc.com , SAN certificate : mail.abc.com (for OWA , ECP , OAB, Outlook Anywhere ...) , autodiscover.abc.com

Now I want to host mail for 1 more domain : xyz.com (xyz.com users can use same services as abc.com users) , I purchase another SAN certificate : mail.xyz.com , autodiscover.xyz.com

How should I configure IIS for my goal ? I assume steps to do :
- Copy C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy to HttpProxy2
- Add new web site in IIS , point to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy2
- Convert to application with appropriate application pool
- Config SSL , Authentication settings , assign SAN Certificate of xyz.com domain
- restart IIS

Please give me some advice, thank you very much.

i am getting the following error when trying to update my OAB

When trying to install the EMC on my win10 machine. I get the following error when verify the exchangesetuplogs file

How to verify if Centralized mail Transport is enabled

Hello we have a client who swears his centralized mail transport is enabled. I run Get-HybridConfiguration | fl Features and there is no CentralizeTransport there. Just want to make sure i am not missing anything is there another way to verify if its enabled

Outlook 2013 unable to send (internally and externally) on Exchange 2013 server, OWA items stay in drafts.

While the issue I'm encountering seems similar to many I've seen, none of the solutions I've found has done the trick for me. Lucky me.

I had some trouble but managed to get my 2010 and 2013 clients to connect to the server, and somehow I managed to get 2010 to successfully send mail earlier, but that's not working anymore for some reason.  Probably all the messing around I've done with DNS setup.

Every time I try to send mail, whether internally or externally, the event log throw 5016 events at me with regard to not being able to find the "send mail to the internet" connector and the text messaging delivery agent connector - though I've checked in adsiedit and they show up, I'm not sure how to check their health.

When I try to use OWA to send mail, it remains in drafts and I get a 4999 event in the log, as well as periodically receiving 4999's and 10004's related to the EWS url.

I've tried altering the DNS settings from auto to adapter-specific to custom entries, and none of them seems to work.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, since this is slated to be our new production server as of Monday, and currently while the filesystem and AD are ready, mail is not

SSL wildcard certificate for single domain installed on exchange server with multiple domain

Hi,

probably this is a silly question, but anyway i try.

I have wildcard certificate for domain xxxx.it 

Our exchange server host both yyyyy.it and zzzzz.com email addresses.

when users that have only xxxx.it email, they manage to use outlook without problems, if the user who has other 2 domains in email address they receive a warning like tajta :

autodiscover.yyyy.it

saying that certificate name does not correspond to the name of the site.



is there a way to let outlook to not check it  (while  we ask for wildacard certificate, multidomain)

Can't remove Public Folder Mailbox after Crash

Long story short, we lost the server and database our public folder mailbox was on. No big deal as we haven't used them in 10 years. The issue is I can't seem to delete the now defunct database from the system because it still has the public folder mailbox"Mailbox1" and any commands I can conjure up don't seem to be able to remove it as they all complain the server isn't responding (because the server is dead and not coming back). I'm familiar with ADSI Edit and went in there to dig up the "MsExHomePublicMDB" setting and clear it, but that hasn't seemed to do anything. It still shows in EAC and I can't delete the database. I want to nuke this thing from orbit.
